Gyan (Jnana) Mudra: The mudra of wisdom or spiritual knowledge. Tip of the thumb and index fingers touch forming a circle. In many traditions the thumb is said to represent Supreme Reality, Universal Consciousness, Brahman, God; while the index finger represents individual identity, the soul, atman, jiva, or higher essence. Thus this mudra can awaken the awareness that we are connected to something bigger than ourselves. It also stimulates insight and intuition and strengthens trust in it.
