Faith without understanding is what's given scripture such a bad rap. As with all scriptural texts, we need less bible thumping and more bible living.
It's possible to have faith in scripture without understanding it; but it's impossible to understand scripture without having faith. This is where faith becomes power and what biblical scripture refers to as "the substance of things hoped for."
